Missing You
It was a Clear night.
I wasn’t in a fight.
I was talking on the phone.
I felt so alone.
I had wondered where you’d been.
Then I heard from a friend.
That you were dead.
Thoughts filled my head.
My mind filled with dread.
Even though I tried.
I just sat there and cried.
I never usually cried.
But, that changed when I heard you died.
I should’ve been there.
I should’ve talked to you when you needed care.
I wasn’t there.
I didn’t talk to you when you needed care.
Now you’re gone.
Now I can’t say what I wanted to say to you for so long.
No you’re a star shining above.
Now, I’m surrounded with your ever-lasting love.
I know you’re in a better place.
I can’t see your face.
I know you’re light shines on me.
I know you’re there telling me It’ll be ok.
Now I pray.
That I’ll see you again someday.
